Daddy's Birthday

Today we celebrated Daddy's birthday at Grandpa's house. It was another low-key family get-together, but this time Toddy spied something that caught his interest: Grandpa's fishing pole!

He spent the better part of the afternoon playing with it, until Grandpa gave him a little one that was perfect for his size.

By afternoon's end, he was much more proficient at use of the fishing rod than Daddy was! ;-)

Moved from Tripod

I have decided to discontinue blogging Todd's stories on Tripod because I like the fact that Blogger allows for group posting, and this way, both Mommy and Daddy can freely post to the blog anytime new stories arise.

Here are the archives from Todd's birth until now:

Eventually I'll get around to moving the old posts from Tripod to Blogger, but that may take some time (I've got over 100 posts), and until that's finished, I'll leave the link to Tripod up so you can access the pre-March 2007 archives :-)

Happy Reading!

Todd the Vampire

Todd was throwing yet another tantrum when Oma took away a dangerous household item and refused to let him play with it.

So he marched up to her and began gnawing on her leg. As this isn't the first time he'd done this, she didn't think much of it, until-- OUCH!! Todd chomped down so hard that he actually drew blood!

Oma reacted so forcefully that Todd immediately backed up and started repeating "Sorry!" over and over again. Too late buddy-- you shouldn't bitten Oma (or anyone else, for that matter!) in the first place.

Later that evening Oma showed me her leg, which now had a nice bruise on it. Todd again took a peek and proclaimed, "Sorry!"

Healthy Bathing

One day while Ama-ama was taking a bath, Todd figured out how to break into the bathroom. He opened up the hall closet, pulled up a chair to it, climbed on, and went fishing for a coin in the little coin box that sits inside the closet. Then he used the coin as a "key" to unlock the bathroom door.

Once he'd broken in, he dragged in a huge (full!) bottle of vitamins, and dumped the entire container into Ama-ama's bath water! Her shouts made Oma come running, where she had to promptly drag the little man out and then try to fish out all the vitamins, which by now had turned the bath water a lovely murky yellow color.

And then, when she laid the vitamins out on a plate to dry, they ended up drying all right-- all stuck together in one huge inseparable clump!

St. Patrick's Day

Another St. Paddy's Day celebration at the Geekhouse. Probably the last one of its kind, and it marks the 4th annual one. We've had a good run :-)

We enjoyed a nice dinner of potato leek soup, boiled cabbage, corned beef, potatoes, carrots and turnip. And of course, decadent desserts of strawberry shortcake or chocolate mousse cake :-9 Even Todd had a nice filling dinner.

He also had fun talking to Sara's cat, ordering it to "sit" or "come down" from its little padded perch. As usual, he was shy around everyone and refused to go more than a foot away from either Mommy or Daddy, so one of us was usually dragged to wherever he wanted to go-- either the cat's perch or the giant fish tank in the kitchen.

Here's Todd with his stuffed fish Nemo, holding the toy up to the glass of the fish tank, and making Nemo talk to the real live fishies:
